Hands-On, Minds-On Learning
The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) department prepares students to master core theories through hands-on practical application. Guided by a rigorous curriculum, students first study concepts in the classroom then experiment with those same ideas in the lab.
These experiences prepare students for internships and capstone classes centered on solving design problems submitted by industry. After graduation, students are empowered not just to succeed in their careers, but to be future leaders and innovators.
Through your generous giving, we can increase the resources available to vital student clubs and organizations like the consecutively top-ten ranked Formula SAE team. Traveling each year to a Nebraska racetrack to test their custom-built vehicle, the team completes a tangible project that reinforces crucial concepts from the classroom. Learning opportunities also abound within the Human Powered Submarine team and Students for the Exploration and Development of Space.
