Making UC San Diego a world center for design research and education.
UC San Diego Design Lab is a leading center for the design of complex sociotechnical systems. Directed by world-renowned design theorist and author, Don Norman, it is located in UC San Diego’s premier multi-disciplinary, problem-driven research conglomerate, Qualcomm Institute. In essence, we design, build, and test people-centered interventions and technologies to solve the world’s wicked problems and aims to improve the quality of life for all.
One way we explore the societal challenges, cultural values, and technological opportunities is through our Design@Large series. The Design@Large series showcases the ever-evolving, interdisciplinary nature of design in a real-world context.
Your gift to support Design@Large will ensure invited academic, civic, and industry speakers continue to share with UC San Diego students cutting-edge research on interaction, design, and learning.
